Anne Polk, Visual Artist, Adult Category

Anne was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her family would visit New Orleans quite often and she first became interested in art while watching the artists around the square using pastels to sketch their subjects. She took art classes in college and attended Watkins College of Art. She has recently picked up painting again since retiring. She connects with the theme of family, a them often present in author Patricia McKissack’s works. She works mainly in oils. You can see more of her work at the art crawl at Front Street Sign Company, 114 Front Street.
